5-MB-17

5-MB-17 Is a vertebra likely from an Edmontosaurus regalis becuase of it's more elongated shape. Usually hadrosaur vertebrae are more hexagonal while Edmontosaurus had a shape more like the one in the cover image. 5-MB-17 was also one of the fossils found on our first fossiling trip and was initially thought to be from a theropod because at the time we only knew that theropod vertebrae were heart shaped but not how the shape actually looked in real life which was not what we found.

Fossil ID: 5-MB-17

Formation/Group: Horseshoe Canyon Formation, Edmonton Group
